Frequently Asked Questions About OTS 7-on-7

1. Can 8th graders and seniors play?

Yes! OTS 7-on-7 is open to athletes from 8th grade through 12th grade.

2. Can I bring my own team?

Absolutely! This is NOT an I9 league. We don’t assign players to rosters—you bring your own team. Players MUST be from the same high school, 8th graders play for the high school they are going to attend.

3. Can I coach?

Yes, you can! If you can put a team together, you’re welcome to coach.

4. What is the cost?

Registration is $200 per team member:

$100 due before February 1st

$100 due before March 1st

Coaches’ kids (2 coach max) get a 50% discount on registration fees!

5. What is the season format?

Four-week regular season: Each team plays two games per Sunday.

Playoffs: Begin in Week 4 and conclude on the following Sunday in Week 5.

All-Star Weekend: Held in Week 6 to celebrate the season’s top players!

6. Will the games be streamed?

Yes! Games will be available to watch via YouTube live stream.

7. How are the games officiated?

We’ll have two referees per field to ensure smooth and fair play.

OTS 7-on-7 is built to be competitive, fun, and a great experience for our athletes. Let’s make this first season unforgettable!

8. How big are the rosters?
There is no maximum player limit; however, we aim to ensure all players receive ample playing time. Teams with enough players may be split at the discretion of the League Director. For example, if a team has multiple quarterbacks, the team might be divided into two smaller squads to balance playing opportunities.

9. How do I form or register a team?

Each team must have at least 9 players on its roster. Players must sign up individually and specify their current or future high school team during registration.

10. What if my high school team can't roster a full team?
If your high school team cannot fill a full roster, individual players can still participate. You will be placed on another team to ensure everyone has a chance to play.

11. Where and when are practices held?

Coaches organize practices at their discretion.

12. What gear is required for games?

  • Soft shell helmet (mandatory for all players)

  • Mouthguard (mandatory for all players)

  • Compression top & shorts (provided by OTS for all players)

13. What is the time commitment for 7on7?
Each team plays two 40-minute games per event. Games are typically held on Sunday nights but may be rescheduled to Saturdays in case of cancellations.

14. What ages are eligible to play?

  • Rising 9th-12th graders

  • Current 8th graders who will be rising 9th graders in the fall
